WELCOME
I've had a nontraditional career. I spent my early 20s working on construction crews, both commercial and residential. I was both a hitchhiker and truck driver, a skier and motorcyclist. Later, I learned to fly planes, earning both an instrument rating and a commercial license.
In my early 40s, after a decade in the news business—I won some awards along the way—I decided to "settle down": I married my longtime partner, and I worked a 9-5 corporate career, including seven years spent at a prestigious tech firm headquartered in Raleigh. Along the way, I ran a futsal and soccer league in Durham.
During the pandemic, my wife and I left Durham, our home of nearly two decades, and moved up the interstate to Oxford, NC, a charming town that we are proud to call home.
I obtained my NC General Contractor's License, and I completed my Masters in Business Administration in 2026. I also supplemented my GC license with extra training to become a Certified Builder and Certified Remodeler, as well as a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). I registered my business and obtained the necessary insurance.
My passion is community-building, and I have, along with partners, acquired a historic tobacco warehouse that we intend to rehabilitate.
But in the meantime, I intend to make a living with my building and remodeling credentials. There is tremendous need in this region for upgrading existing housing stock, and for making older homes livable for longtime owners with evolving needs.
Whether it's building a new deck, installing a ramp and making other universal design modifications, or upgrading a bathroom, I pledge to work on your home as if it is my own, and will ensure that you achieve the result you desire.
With warm regards,
David Fellerath

Katja Hill, to whom I have been married since 2012, and I seen at a wedding in Raleigh, fall 2025.
